Filson Tin Cloth Field Trousers Made in USA - 34

"Might as well have the best." That's what the label says, and Filson has been saying it since 1897. These are the older Filson field trousers — tan cotton twill, made in the USA, with suspender buttons riding the outside of the waistband and a button fly underneath. Cut full and straight, broken in to a soft tan, the cloth gone supple the way only honest Filson cotton does. Built for the field and dressed like it means it.

The Story

C.C. Filson opened in Seattle in 1897, outfitting men headed north to the Klondike gold rush — "the best" was a promise to people whose gear had to survive Alaska. The cream "A Genuine Filson / Might As Well Have The Best / C.C. Filson Co. Seattle" label with the Made-in-USA stamp marks the older domestic production, before the bulk of Filson's catalog moved offshore. The exterior suspender buttons are a field-trouser detail — these were meant to be worn braced, the way bird hunters and timber cruisers wore them. RN 39126.
