Slate — a grey with teal in its blood, the kind of color a paint company would charge extra to name. Levi's built these in Dacron polyester and ran white contrast stitch down every seam so the five-pocket jean shape reads loud and clean. The tab's still on the back pocket. The crease is still sharp. The 70s, preserved.
The Story
“Dacron” is DuPont's name for the polyester that ran the permanent-press decade, and Levi's spelled it right out on the tag: “100% DACRON POLYESTER, MADE IN USA, W35 L32.” This is the wrinkle-free Levi's — the jean's five-pocket build and back-pocket tab carried over onto fabric engineered never to crease in the wrong place. White topstitch over slate is the era at its most confident: workwear shape, leisure-wear cloth.
