The Piece
Of One Thread built this jacket like a room you want to live in. The body is a dense, tonal tapestry weave in muted gold with a baroque damask pattern running through it — the kind of textile that looks like it was cut from an antique settee in the best possible way. Then they laid in panels of a darker, richer floral tapestry at the hem, the cuffs, and down the center back — deep plum, forest green, and copper roses on a dark ground. The whole thing is finished with black binding at every edge.
The silhouette is oversized and open-front with a generous shawl collar. No closures, no fuss. It drapes like a kimono crossed with a smoking jacket. The kind of piece that makes a plain black outfit suddenly interesting.
