The Story
Plain Pockets was JCPenney's own denim line — no flashy stitching, no designer markup, just American-made five-pocket jeans sold by the millions from the 1960s into the '80s. The locomotive on the back patch was the whole pitch: built like rolling stock, priced for everybody.
