The real thing. High-waisted blue denim bell bottoms from the 1970s, with hand-braided leather laced through the trim of all four pockets — front and back. The flare opens wide from the knee, the rise sits up at the natural waist, and the leather has gone the warm brown of an old saddle. This is the silhouette every reissue chases and never quite catches.
The Story
No brand label survives, but the construction tells the decade: the towering rise, the dramatic knee-to-hem flare, and especially the braided-leather pocket trim — a hallmark of '70s boutique and Western-leaning denim, when leather lacing turned a plain jean into something handmade. Medium-blue cotton denim, broken in soft. Unbranded, but unmistakably of its era.
