Whitefish, Montana put their name on the pull-strap and meant it. These are packer-roper boots from Western Outfitters — bullhide tan over a creamy bone vamp, the shafts tooled with a flame-stitch quill pattern and run up the side with a ladder of brass studs. Kiltie fringe over the lace, a stacked-leather cowboy heel underneath, and the kind of two-tone that only makes sense when somebody built a boot to be looked at as hard as it was worked. The leather's gone soft and slouchy at the ankle the way good packers do. Somebody rode in these.
