The 13MWZ. Wrangler's Cowboy Cut, the jean built for the saddle and worn everywhere else. This one came up in a medium stonewash with the cast pulled toward grey-blue, broken in just enough to move easy. Made in the USA, back when the tag still said so.
The Story
Wrangler introduced the 13MWZ Cowboy Cut in 1947, designed with rodeo champion Jim Shoulders for riders who needed a jean that sat right in the saddle — higher back rise, slim through the seat, room over the boot. It's been in continuous production ever since. The "Made in USA" tag and union-era care label put this pair in the era before Wrangler moved most production offshore.
